Application Guide for International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship 2023

      

        国际中文教师奖学金项目是由教育部中外语言交流合作中心设立，聚焦培养合格的海外中文教师。孔子学院、独立设置的孔子课堂，部分汉语考试考点，外国相关教育机构、高校中文师范专业/中文院系、国外有关中 文教学行业组织、中国驻外使（领）馆等（以下简称推荐机构）可推荐优秀学生和在职中文教师到我校学习和进修汉语国际教育及相关专业。

The International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship is established by the Center For Language Education And Cooperation. Confucius Institutes, independently operated Confucius Classrooms, certain HSK test centers, Chinese language (education) departments of foreign universities, professional associations for Chinese language instruction of other countries, Chinese embassies (consulates) abroad (collectively “recommending institutions”) may recommend outstanding students and currently-employed Chinese language teachers to study International Chinese Language Education or related majors in Liaoning Normal University.

 

一、资助对象

1.非中国籍人士;

2.对华 友好， 无 违法犯罪记录，遵守中国政府的法律、法规和学校的规章制度；

3.身心健康，品学兼优;

4.有志于从事中文教育、教学及相关工作;

5.年龄为16-35周岁（统一以2023年9月1日计）。在职中文教师放宽至45周岁，本科奖学金申请者一般不超过25周岁。

ELIGIBILITY

All applicants shall be

a)Non-Chinese citizens

b) Should be friendly to China, have no criminal record, and abide by the laws and regulations of the Chinese government and the rules and regulations of the school;

c)In good Physical and mental condition, well performed both academically and behaviorally

d)Aspired to take future careers on the teaching or international promotion of Chinese language.

e)Between the ages of 16-35 on September 1st, 2023. Applicants currently worked as Chinese language teachers shall not exceed the age limit of 45, while undergraduate students shall not exceed the age limit of 25.

 

 

二、奖学金类别及申请条件

1.汉语国际教育专业博士研究生2023年9月入学，资助期限为 4 年。 具有硕士学历，硕士专业为对外汉语、语言学、汉语国际教育或者教育相关专业。汉语考试成绩达到 HSK（六级）200 分、HSKK（高级）60 分。提供毕业后拟任教机构工作协议或相关证明者优先。

A. Scholarship for Doctor’s Degree in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages (DTCSOL)The programme commences in September 2023 and provides scholarship for a maximum of four academic years. Applicants shall hold a Master’s degree in majors such as Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language, Linguistics, or Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages. Applicants shall have a minimum score of 200 on the HSK Test (Level 6), and 60 on the HSKK test (Advanced Level).

 

2.汉语国际教育专业硕士研究生2023年9月入学，资助期限为2年。具有大学本科学历。汉语考试成绩达到HSK（五级）210分、HSKK（中级）60分。提供毕业后拟任教机构工作协议或相关证明者优先。

B. Scholarship for Master’s Degree in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages (MTCSOL) The program commences in September 2023 and provides scholarship for a maximum of two academic years. Applicants shall hold a Bachelor’s degree, and have a minimum score of 210 on the HSK Test (Level 5) as well as 60 on the HSKK test (Intermediate Level). Priority will be given to applicants who may provide a work contract with a teaching institution upon completing their studies in China or a proof to the same effect.

 

3.汉语国际教育专业本科生2023年9月入学，资助期限为4年。具有高中学历。汉语考试成绩达到HSK（四级）210分、HSKK（中级）60分。

C. Scholarship for Bachelor’s Degree in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages (BTCSOL) The program commences in September 2023 and provides scholarship for a maximum of four academic years. Applicants shall hold a senior high school diploma and a minimum score of 210 on the HSK Test (Level 4) as well as 60 on the HSKK test (Intermediate Level).

 

4.一学年研修生2023年9月入学，资助期限为11个月。不录取享受过同类奖学金的申请者。汉语国际教育方向，汉语考试成绩达到 HSK （三级） 270分，具有 HSKK 成绩；汉语言文学、中国历史、中国哲学等方向，汉语考试成绩达到 HSK （四级） 180 分、 HSKK (中级)60 分；汉语研修方向，汉语考试成绩达到 HSK （三级） 210 分，提供 HSKK 成绩者优先。

D. Scholarship for One-Academic-Year Study The program commences in September 2023, and provides scholarship for a maximum of eleven months. International students who have benefited from similar scholarships are not eligible. For the area of TCSOL, applicants shall have a minimum score of 270 on the HSK test (Level 3), and an HSKK test score is required. For the areas of Chinese Language and Literature, Chinese History, and Chinese Philosophy, etc., applicants shall have a minimum score of 180 on the HSK test (Level 4) and 60 on the HSKK test (Intermediate Level). For the area of Chinese Language Study, applicants shall have a minimum score of 210 on the HSK test (Level 3). Priority will be given to applicants who provide an HSKK test score.

 

5.一学期研修生2023年9月、2024年3月入学，资助期限为5个月。不录取护照上有X1、X2签证者。汉语国际教育、汉语言文学、中国历史、中国哲学 等方向，汉语考试成绩达到HSK（三级）180分，具有HSKK成绩；中医、太极文化方向，具有HSK成绩，同时提供HSKK成绩者优先。

E. Scholarship for One-Semester Study The program commences either in September 2023 or March 2024, and provides scholarship of a maximum of five months. Applicants holding the X1 or X2 visa are not eligible. i. TCSOL, Chinese Language and Literature, Chinese History, Chinese Philosophy, etc. Applicants shall have a minimum score of 180 on the HSK test (Level 3), and an HSKK test score is required. ii. Traditional Chinese Medicine and Taiji Culture An HSK test score is required. Priority will be given to applicants who provide an HSKK test score.

 

6.四周研修生2023年7月或12月入学，资助期限为4周。不录取护照上有X1、X2 签证者。具有 HSK 成绩。

F. Scholarship for Four-Week Study The program commences either in July or December 2022, and provides a fourweek scholarship. Applicants holding the X1 or X2 visa are not eligible. An HSK test score is required.

 

三、办理流程

2023年3月1日起，申请者可登录国际中文教师奖学金报名网站（cis.chinese.cn）申请国际中文教师奖学金。

登录奖学金网站，查询推荐机构与接收院校；在线提交申请材料，关注申请进程、审核意见与奖学金评审结果；奖学金获得者与接收院校确认办理来华留学手续，在线打印获奖证书；按接收院校录取通知书规定的时间入学报到。截止日期（以北京时间为准）：

1．7月入学：学生申请截止日期为4月15日，推荐机构、接收院校审核截止日期为4月25日;

2．9月入学：学生申请截止日期为5月15日，推荐机构、接收院校审核截止日期为5月25日；

3．12月入学：学生申请截止日期为9月15日，推荐机构、接收院校审核截止日期为9月25日；

4．2024年3月入学：学生申请截止日期为11月15日，推荐机构、接收院校审核截止日期为11月25日。

APPLICATION PROCEDURES

Online registration will be available from March 1, 2023 on the International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship application website (cis.chinese.cn). Please log on to search for recommending institutions and host institutions; upload application materials online; and track the application progress, comments and result. Scholarship holders need to confirm with the host institutions to go through the procedures of studying in China, print out the scholarship certificate online, and register at host institutions on the designated date as per the letter of admission.           The application deadlines (Beijing Time) are:

a) For programs commencing in July, student application must complete before April 15th; recommending institutions and host institutions must complete review before April 25th;

b) For programs commencing in September, student application must complete before May 15th; recommending institutions and host institutions must complete review before May 25th;

c) For programs commencing in December, student application must complete before September 15th; recommending institutions and host institutions must complete review before September 25th;

d) For programs commencing in March 2024, student application must complete before November 15th; recommending institutions and host institutions must complete review before November 25th.

附件1

国际中文教师奖学金资助内容及标准

奖学金资助内容包括：学费、住宿费、生活费（四周研修生除外）和综合医疗保险费。

1.学费由接收院校统筹用于奖学金生的培养与管理，开展文化活动，组织参加汉语考试等。

2.住宿费由接收院校统筹使用，为学生提供免费宿舍， 一般为双人间；经奖学金生申请、接收院校批准，选择校外住宿者，由学校按月或季度发放住宿费，博士生标准为1000元人民币/月，其他类奖学金生为700元人民币/月。

3.生活费由接收院校按月发放。本科生、一学年和一学期研 修生标准为 2500 元人民币/月；汉语国际教育专业硕士生为 3000 元人民币/月；汉语国际教育专业博士生为 3500 元人民币/月。

奖学金生按接收院校录取通知书规定的时间入学报到，否则取消奖学金资格。当月15日（含15日）前到校注册者， 当月发放全额生活费；15日以后注册者，当月发放半月生活 费。

奖学金生在学期间（不含寒暑假）因个人原因离开中国时7间超过15天者，停发离华期间生活费。

奖学金生因个人原因休学、退学或受接收院校纪律处分者，停发自休学、退学或接到处分通知之日起的生活费。

毕（结）业生的生活费发放至学校确定的毕（结）业日期后的半个月。

4.综合医疗保险费参照中国教育部来华留学有关规定执行，由接收院校统一购买。四周研修生标准为160元人民币/人，一学期研修生为400元人民币/人，一学年以上标准为800元人民币/年/人。

 

Appendix 1

International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship Coverage and Criteria

The scholarship provides full coverage on tuition fee, accommodation fee, living allowance (four-week study students are excluded) and comprehensive medical insurance expenses.

a) Tuition is under the overall planning and utilization of host institutions to provide teaching and management of scholarship students organizing cultural and social activities, as well as organizing Chinese language proficiency tests.

b) Accommodation fee is under the overall planning and utilization of host institutions to provide students with in-campus apartments (usually double rooms). Students may also live off-campus upon application and getting permission from the host institutions. Students who live off-campus are entitled to accommodation allowance of 1000 CNY per person/month for doctoral students and 700 CNY per person/month for other students paid on a monthly / quarterly basis from the host institutions.

c) Living allowance is granted by host institutions on a monthly basis. The monthly allowance for undergraduates, one-academic-year study students and one-semester students is 2,500 CNY per person. For MTCSOL student, the monthly allowance is 3,000 CNY per person. For DTCSOL student, the monthly allowance is 3500 CNY per person.

Students are required to complete enrollment procedures for every semester within stipulated period; otherwise, their scholarship may be cancelled. Students who are enrolled before the 15th (or on the 15th) of the month are entitled to the full allowance of that month while those enrolled after the 15th of that month are only entitled to half of the amount. During the study period, for any student who is absent from China due to personal reasons for more than 15 days (excluding winter and summer holidays), the allowance during absence will be suspended.

For students who suspend study or drop out of school for personal reasons, or who are given disciplinary punishment by the host institutions, allowance will be terminated on the date of such suspension, dropping out or when the decision of such punishment is announced.

The living allowance for the month of graduation will be granted half a month after the date of graduation or expiration day of the study confirmed by host institutions.

d) Comprehensive medical insurance is purchased by the host institutions in accordance with relevant regulations of studying in China stipulated by the Ministry of Education of China. Insurance fee per person is 160 CNY for four-week study students, 400 CNY for one-semester students, and 800 CNY per year for students engaged in program longer than one academic year.

国际中文教师奖学金申请材料清单

一、与所有申请者有关的证明材料

1．护照照片页扫描件。

2.HSK、HSKK成绩报告（有效期两年）扫描件。

3.推荐机构负责人的推荐信。

二、与学历生有关的证明材料

4.提供最高学历证明（毕业预期证明）和在校学习成绩单。

5.汉语国际教育专业博士须提供两封相关专业领域内的副教授（含）以上或具有相当专业技术职称专家的推荐信。提供中文个人陈述（含对报考学科专业的认识、拟定研究计划，3000字左右）。提供毕业后拟任教机构工作协议或相关证明者优先。

6.汉语国际教育专业硕士须提供两名副教授以上职称导师的推荐信。提供毕业后拟任教机构工作协议者优先资助。

三、在职中文教师须附上就职机构出具的在职证明和推荐信。

四、未满18周岁的申请者，须提交在华监护人署名的委托证明文件。

五、申请者还须提供接收院校要求的其他证明材料。

 

Appendix 2

Application Documents for International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship

A. For all applicants:

a) a scanned copy of passport photo page;

b) a scanned copy of score reports of the HSK and HSKK tests (within the twoyear validity);

c) a reference letter by the head of the recommending institutions.

B. For degree scholarship program applicants:

a) a certification of the highest education diploma (or proof of expected graduation) and an official transcript;

b) applicants of the Scholarship for DTCSOL students are required to provide 2 reference letters from professors or associate professors or experts with equivalent professional and technical titles in relevant fields and a 3000-character personal statement in Chinese (including knowledge of the intended field of study and research proposal). Priority will be given to applicants who may provide a work contract with a teaching institution upon completing their studies in China or a proof to the same effect.

c) applicants of the Scholarship for MTCSOL students are required to provide 2 reference letters from professors or associate professors. Priority will be given to applicants who may provide a work contract with a teaching institution upon completing their studies in China or a proof to the same effect.

C. Applicants currently working as Chinese language teachers shall provide proof of employment as well as a reference letter by the employer.

D. Applicants under the age of 18 shall provide certified documents of designation signed by their entrusted legal guardians in China.

E. Applicants shall also provide additional documents required by the host institutions.
